Not a place to stay at if you want to grow your career
Pros
It helped to get a salary job as a recent college graduate and you are granted about 20 days of PTO. This is a good place to go to if you have no other options and need a stepping stone to the scientist positions you really want.
Cons
Pay is $10K lower than most comparable jobs in the same field for the same positions. Covert biases of race and gender; if you are not liked by management or not the right color or gender, they'll never let you move to other depts despite promising to. False promises of being told that you will be moved to library prep or sequencing or extraction after being trained in sample QC (a broken system that makes sample QC a trap for some workers). High turnover rate coupled with a severe lack of training and trainers leads to so much tension in feeling like a burden having to ask for help or training from your coworkers who are busy with their own workload. An emphasis for quality AND quantity on paper, but really just a push for quantity and to heck with quality of results in real life. Management also many times created extra steps that take more time to ensure quality, but also would push workers to maintain the same speed or speed up despite it clearly not being possible. Just understand that this place should only be a stepping stone on your path to the rest of your career as there is a lot of office politics and it can negatively affect you if you stay too long.
