Pros

Good work life balance. Competitive benefits.

Cons

If you are a person of color or a member of the LGBT community you will be looked at with suspicion for wanting to advance your career and move up the corporate ladder. Members of these "diverse" communities are picked far less for management and leadership positions event when they have more education and experience than their counterparts.

What a mess!

Pros

It is a well known company in the defense industry, so it makes for a great bullet on your resume. Lots of involvement in the workforce quality of life... but only if you are in an area with lots of BAE employees.

Cons

If you work outside of the larger BAE areas (Va, Md, Ca, etc) you are out of luck with pretty much everything. Your supervision is remote, and probably has never been to your site. You are required to onboard remotely, without any assistance... and no real contact information to make it happen. 1-800 numbers for everything from HR, to benefits (who know nothing about your actual benefits or payroll), and that's just the start. Run away if you are thinking of applying in an area where there is not a major BAE unit. It will be a disaster.

OK place to work

Pros

9/80 schedule, some great people, very ethical (zero tolerance for harassment and the like), many different programs to work on (if you are allowed to change), large stable company, tuition reimbursement, good 401k match

Cons

large company, raises and promotions are not merit based, talent seems to go unnoticed, old tools and technology, many engineers are out of touch with current/modern software techniques, very difficult to change any process, culture, etc., little to no control over your career path and project placement
