Pros

Worked in pretty interesting development projects. Coworkers are very talented and cooperative. Schedules are fairly tight but was able to manage it and not swamped.

Cons

Salary was not very competitive at least my case. Benefits were getting worse and worse. Sometimes had to go through to much meetings and approvals.

Pros

Work/life balance was nice with a 9/80 schedule and then all of the government holidays plus vacation & sick time. Profit sharing and 401k as well as the basic medical, dental, vision benefits were also nice.

Cons

Unless you're a part of the good ol' boys club, you're never going to get anywhere here. No career path, no training & requests for training are denied because they were seen as "a waste of time". Lots of retired military especially in management positions so "barking orders" to their subordinates was the standard way of giving direction. I knew less than 2 weeks in that I had made a huge mistake. Human resources was also less than helpful if you needed them for any reason so was the "anonymous hot line" to report harassment and unethical behavior.

Pros

Most coworkers are easy to get along...I've formed strong friendships with many.

Cons

Management is extremely distant, lazy and overall not knowledgeable. Most employees perform their own work PLUS managements work (such as creating and maintaining metrics). Constant turnover in management. Extreme nepotism. Management allows the 'inmates to run the asylum'. No room for advancement and when there are openings that far more deserving and ambitious people deserve they are filled by management with their unqualified friends. I was severely underpaid for my position and the work that I brought to the table. Hard work and intelligence get you nowhere in this company. When I tried to improve areas that were underperforming I was met with disdain and lazy management that was fine with the status quo. These managers and supervisors drive people out that challenge the way things are currently done and expose areas in need of severe improvement because they have hired their friends and family. At the same time they tried to implement a 'continuous improvement' initiative they were blocking improvements from occurring because of their pettiness. Management laziness allowed the program to fizzle out as quick as they 'tried' to start it...and one of them was a Black Belt, haha. Ineptitude and laziness are rampant in this company. Also, if you're a young woman I would not suggest taking employment at the Manassas, VA site as there is a serial sexual harasser that has been allowed to run amock because HR refuses to do anything about him even though he's been reported multiple times. It truly was once a very good place to work until this new wave of horrendous 'management' came in.
