Pros

The only pros are the benefits and pension plan.

Cons

Everything else. Micro management with unreasonable sales goals. Terrible work schedules with limited branch staff. AOOs are constantly badgering bankers. BB&T has the worst training in the financial services industry. It's virtual "training" with no support. Finally, the salaries at BB&T are not competitive-at least $5K-$10K lower.

Pros

They promote from within, I started as a Relationship Banker and went through the Management training program to become a branch manager/retail loan officer. Opportunities for bonuses based on meeting sales goals.

Cons

More worried about making numbers and sales goals than the well being of clients and employees. Work a lot more than 40 hours a week but don't get paid overtime for salaried employees. A lot of focus on cold sales calls both by phone and in person. Goals do not always reflect the area the branch is located in.

Pros

Good learning experience; compensated well for not doing that much; hours not bad; slow pace

Cons

failure-fearing culture; hard word is not recognized; decisions are made based on politics; employees try to point out others' mistakes
