Pros

High profile, interesting and challenging work. Some great colleagues. Good pay, holidays and benefits. Good training.

Cons

Dwindling resources and lack of capacity due to excessive cuts. Poor leadership. Politics. London-centric. Disorganised. Highly reactive. Ridiculously heavy workloads. Gradist. Rhetoric without substance. A lack of long-term strategy.

Pros

High level of responsibility and good exposure to senior ministers. Amazing if you love the world of politics or economics, however, if this is not the case, may not be a suitable role

Cons

Work can be very slow to get through, and sometimes it can be too relaxed. If you want to be busy throughout the day, may not be the right job for you.
