Pros

Freedom to perform your job. Company car. Technology not too bad. The knowledge of the co-workers, even those in other offices, is phenomenal. My supervisor was the most knowledgeable in coverage that I have ever encountered. There are a few in the company that actually "have your back".

Cons

There is an individual in the Home Office that does not do much for morale. No upward mobility, if that is your concern.

Experts in their limited target markets Low stress environment Limited distribution network

Cons

Antiquated systems and internal procedures. Limited Underwriter authority Very little IT investment. Thin staffing model across all divisions- underwriters have a very large workload and with the long process and procedures, it is very difficult to meet new and renewal service standards. Constant turnover of staff Reliance on college graduate trainees, aka those with lesser salary needs, to meet staffing requirements without recognition this is the age group most apt to move companies.

Quality and experience of employees has gone down. This is probably because the pay is on the lower end.
