Cutting rather than investing to reduce cost

Good breadth of projects. Drive to reduce costs. Some progress and long term plans

Cons

Strong path dependancy, resistance to change and reliance on old techniques and tools. Project Managers show the highest prevalence for these. Senior management response to profit warnings is cutting overheads, which is driving skilled labour out because job insecurity, leaving those who cannot leave

Becoming increasingly homogenised into the wider Balfour Beatty group, losing its identity as benefits of working in Investment division increasingly lowered to match those of the wider group
