Pros

Culture. Magic shows. Hunting. Cupcakes. Magnets. Dashboards. Chester. Abstract thought. UFC. Individually wrapped utensils (spoons). Bouncing. Feasting. Marveling. People. Knives. Trucks. Analogies. Freedom. Kolaches. Harambe. No routes found...

Cons

Getting too big too fast. It's like the awkward puberty phase right now. No worries though. High School and a new building will lead to better dating prospects.

Pros

Inbound leads, friendly managers and easy sales cycle environment. Really good for entry-level sales reps.

Cons

If you have any experience in software sales, you'll probably be disappointed with what you'll get at BambooHR. During training, you'll be introduced to basic high school level phone and email etiquette training's one would expect at an entry-level call center job. There is zero room for error as a BambooHR sales rep. Most companies will evaluate on a quarterly basis. BambooHR evaluates on a monthly basis. If you miss quota for 2 months, you could find yourself on a performance plan and the pressure is piled on to perform or you're out. I've seen reps who perform and hit quota for a year and have a bad month or two and are let go. BambooHR promotes work-life balance. They even pay $2000 for you to take a vacation. Be careful doing this, because you will lose out on leads while you're away and could very well not hit your "monthly" number when you return from vacation. In addition to the promoted "work-life" balance, as a sales rep at BambooHR you'll be expected to work international leads. Yes, this means getting up at midnight to do an hour-long demo with someone in India. In fact, a good percentage of leads that you receive are international so expect to be "on call" to contact these leads and close deals all throughout the day and night.

BambooHR Response

Thank you for your thoughts! Perception is reality, and we apologize for failing in our communication around the issues you've mentioned. We can provide excellent clarity around the cases where performance has had the impact you infer. However, we'd argue firmly that our retention of account executives and the success of our reps is better than any firm we know! We've invested incredible effort in our onboarding and training, and have reps tell us they've never experienced such detail and training. If you are a super-experienced rep, we can see how you'd feel this unnecessary. But we consider the mastery of the product at BambooHR as something that is critical. Thank you for sharing. For those seeking to learn more, reach out!

Pros

Owners are the great people who care about their employees and want to see them succeed. They've created a culture that is warm and friendly while managing to hire the best and brightest folks around.

Cons

Growth is rapid which leads to understandable problems. They outgrow their office space every year or so. They're usually a bit late getting more space and end up packing more people in the old space than it can really fit.
