Pros

Baylor is a name that is well recognized in many academic communities and is a place you can be proud to be associated with.

Cons

The pay is always lower than in comparable positions at other universities. The Christian atmosphere can be oppressive at some point. Meaningless prayers abound as a symbol of piety. Often this doesn't square with managerial actions/decisions and policies

Pros

Baylor is a great school. I believe it is one that truly cares. Recently advances have been made to better compensate graduate students and bring incentives up to par.

Cons

As a graduate student you sometimes treated as a child by the university. The belief that your situation is similar to that of an undergraduate and that you need constant supervision prevails.
