Pros

Quickly promoted with hard work and good work ethic, time off is very generous with more than enough sick days and 2 free flex days in the summer, and work-life balance is a constant work in progress - upper management is really trying to make Beacon a better place to work and is implementing different plans to ensure this. There are always employee engagement activities being planned and the overall sense of community is in every office. The company is growing fast and there are always new opportunities.

Cons

Hours are long and there is a underlying expectation to work extra hours and be available to answer emails all the time. This has definitely improved over time, and I feel it will continue to get better.

We are proud to promote within as much as possible and are glad that you have had the opportunity to grow with Beacon. Please know that we are actively working to reduce property work load. To make this happen we are hiring new positions at the home office so that we can centralize some work that is currently being done at the property level. This will enable everyone at Beacon to take more advantage of our generous vacation package and the new, for 2015, Summer Swing Schedule (taking Fridays afternoons off by working extra hours during the week). Beacon communities is a great place to work. They have a great vision for the future.

Pros

Beacon is very conscientious of providing a live/work balance for their employees. They continually look for ways to be innovative. As they grow the company they look for ways to to make the workload less stressful

Cons

The biggest challenge is the workload. It would be ideal to increase staffing

Beacon saved my career.

Pros

I didn't think it was possible to work a job that I genuinely love and enjoy until I started working at Beacon. Because of my previous work situation, I honestly thought that I had chosen the wrong career & wasted four years of time/money on a degree that I no longer wanted to pursue - but Beacon gave me a fresh start and renewed my confidence that this is the right career for me. I now LOVE what I do and have rediscovered the passion I always knew I had. Everyone, especially management, cares about their employees - and hears you out if you have a concern, suggestion, etc. Everyone works so hard and it's a great atmosphere to be in - you WANT to be productive here and management definitely rewards employees for doing so (great work-life balance.) It's very inspiring - a truly unique culture that I'm very honored and excited to be a part of. The work we do is extremely fulfilling and rewarding.

Cons

It's hard to think of any cons immediately off the top of my head. I think there are only challenges - but they aren't necessarily negative.
