Pros

I had the opportunity to work with great clients and families. Company provides a work phone.

Cons

This company is solely focused on providing intensive therapy without taking into account clients’ individual needs. Do not work here if you are interested in providing trauma-informed, naturalistic therapy; this company is as traditional ABA as they come. I did not feel good about the type of therapy this company wanted me to provide clients. BCBAs have extensive tasks they need to complete each month which make it impossible to meet the expectation of 25 billable hours per week.

Thanks for your input. Our clinicians make their recommendations based on the individual needs of each client, not on a pre-determined prescription. We always encourage our clinicians to review the literature surrounding treatment intensity since, as behavior analysts committed to the science, we want to ensure that our recommendations for service will truly make a significant and meaningful impact on our client’s outcomes. Our clinicians have goal- and progress-oriented discussions with parents and caregivers so as to educate them on the true value and impact a quality ABA program can have and speak to the intensity of treatment in relation to what their child will need. This is so that parents can make an informed decision as to the services their child will receive. Our ABA treatment varies from client to client, specifically to address their individual needs – some clients may need more structured Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) while others may benefit from a more naturalistic approach (NaTS, NET), and some clients may benefit from a combination of both! We customize our programming to each client and include parent input on what is most critical or important to them. Moreover, our organization provides substantial resources to support our BCBAs ability to provide the recommended supervision hours for their clients. Specifically, Behavior Frontiers has a centralized scheduling department (so that BCBAs do not have to create client schedules), recruiters who screen, interview, and hire Behavior Technician staff (one less administrative task not on a BCBA’s plate), a training department to train BTs and Supervisors, as well as electronic data collection, to name but a few. Our goal continues to be to reduce administrative tasks for our BCBAs so that they can focus on what they love to do, which is to provide clinical care to our clients! We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

The $5 gift cards you get in the mail from time to time.

Cons

Where do I even start? This company is falling apart. When I came on, two managers left at the same time. For the first two months I did not work at all! I was doing fill ins and getting 2 hours a week. After that, I got on a case and moved up to 4 hours a week. They hire on new BIs who take former employees hours and wonder why people are quitting. Honestly for the longest time we had more BIs than clients! What a joke! I had to find work elsewhere.

Pros

Benefits package, idiot proof curriculum and programs are handed to you on a platter, office staff was nice

Cons

Pay is low considering the area (LA) and cost of living, owners (a husband and wife team) came across as cold and fake at first and then rude and childish upon me leaving, other BCBAs were cold and very arrogant, paperwork/documentation process was insane, company culture was kind of lacking. The place felt like a money making machine, the focus really was not on the children/clients
