Pros

Guaranteed overtime if you like that sort of thing. Some of the employees are really good people to work with, your friends will be the only thing keeping you sane.

Cons

Guaranteed overtime 6-7 days a week, often 8/12 hour shifts. Swing shift. The majority of the time they're printing a security title and therefore ban phones from the premises. Chaos and disorganization among management. Supervisors only care about their shift and pull operators off their machinery to box books and end up screwing over the next shift after. Super Hot, summertime averages ~ 90 degrees. Doesn't matter if there is 1" of ice on the roads and state of emergency - cops telling everyone they will be ticketed if caught driving - BVG will still keep its doors open and penalize you for not making it into work even though only 1 person made it in and 400 people call out due to weather.

It’s encouraging to hear that you value the relationships with your colleagues and appreciate the overtime opportunities. Thank you for sharing both the positives and the challenges of your experience working at BPG. You’re absolutely correct that we take security very seriously at our facilities, which is why personal phone use is restricted, particularly when printing secure materials. At the same time, we understand employees need access to their phones, so they are not completely prohibited. We ask that phones be used responsibly and at appropriate times, while making it clear that photos are strictly forbidden to protect intellectual property. Regarding our facilities, potential future employees should note that they are not temperature controlled. We recognize that summer heat and other weather conditions can be challenging, and we do everything we can to make the work environment as comfortable as possible. We also want to clarify our approach to inclement weather. While we strive to keep operations running whenever possible, we have an inclement weather hotline in place for a reason, and safety remains our top priority. We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to improve both operational efficiency and the overall employee experience.

Pros

They're always hiring, but the jobs aren't great.

Cons

New hires earn more than existing employees. Lower level management is poorly trained.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We want to clarify that new hires do not make more than existing employees in the same roles. As with any manufacturing facility, some positions do have higher pay based on role responsibilities, and any wage offered is reviewed and signed off by the employee at the time of hire. We’re also excited to share that we are undertaking a full pay structure restructuring beginning in 2026 to ensure continued fairness and transparency across all roles. Regarding management, we recognize the importance of strong leadership and training. We continue to invest in development programs to better equip our supervisors and ensure they have the tools needed to support their teams effectively. Like many manufacturing facilities, we do experience some turnover, but we are extremely proud of our high retention rate. We are committed to being transparent with all candidates about the roles they are applying for and the responsibilities involved, giving every potential employee the opportunity to make an informed decision before joining our team. We appreciate your perspective.
