Pros

Relaxed days are very relaxed, and get to spend time joking around with coworkers and learning about new products and whatnot. The discount is really really good depending on the products. Not uncommon to get an $80 cable for $7.

Cons

Corrie Barry is running it into the ground for the most part. Shareholders are prioritized far far above the employees or even the customers. There is no viable upward track for salespeople, and raises are virtually nonexistent. Hard to find a store that values the work of their employees because incentive programs are devised entirely by the managers, and if you have mediocre managers, you have no incentives.

Pros

i got to meet some amazing fellow employees that are incredibly smart and we are now friends outside of work. I did like that they originally emphasize learning about new technologies and attempt to facilitate that through learning network.

Cons

i wanted to leave only a few months in. i was working part-time and they were taking advantage of my sales experience and scheduling me full-time without asking me even outside of my availability. They were stressing me out so much i was having medical reactions to the stress. Leave while you can they have not and do not provide opportunities for learning and every time they claim to they will call you out on the floor so you have no idea what you are talking about unless you do it (learning) outside of work. Customers are absolutely awful and management and corporate do not care how long you work there they will get rid of you for whatever reason. Our management let some one who had multiple hr reports and violations against him work there because he excelled at sales and conning people into cards and they waited for him to quit. In addition, our area hires almost exclusively men/ white men and continuously fails to hire a more diverse workforce where I've had to deal with sexism in the work place for years.

Pros

The starting pay is awesome along with great benefits like health, dental, and an awesome employee discount. Best Buy is #1 in a customer oriented experience, no company can come close to matching that, which I am very proud of. Our customers will come to us for expert tech knowledge, and even better customer service over all other tech retail stores. I have met so many amazing, kind, and hard working individuals working at this company. Over all, a very fun place to work that will bring you lasting friendships while keeping you up to date with the world's technology.

Cons

If you do not like being badgered by leaders constantly to hit Credit Card application and Total Tech Membership goals for the month, this may not be the job for you. The sales floor should be just that: sales. But now it is almost as if your revenue does not matter unless a membership is attached to the transaction. Paired with a bad attitude by select leaders, it has turned into a more stressful, less exciting sales experience. You are expected to ask customers multiple times if they need assistance, sometimes to the point of customer annoyance.
