Pros

The pros about working at Overstock.com are you do have the opportunities to Advance in your career. Also the co-workers are all very helpful and great. And they do care about the customer.

Cons

The cons in Overstock.com do not pay as well as other companies in the industry, no education benefits. Schedule changing within 24 hours of shift, working 99.00 hours in a pay period. Raises taking over 5 weeks after promotion.

Pros

They have lots of fun activites and competetions to keep people motivated. They are flexible when personal situations arise. I have heard of executives doing everything from paying someone's rent in an emergency to covering the cost of a funeral for an employee. They have employee only scholarships and things of that nature.

Cons

The only complaint I have is that I got discipliary action based on a complaint from a coworker that was unsubtantiated.

Pros

The people in my department are great--we have a great support system and good work ethic. The benefits are okay. The bonuses (if any) are generous. Time off requests are usually granted. PTO accrual is reasonable.

Cons

No opportunity to advance (I was told this in my interview); communication barriers with upper management; sometimes we (as a department) feel we are treated as incompetent people because we don't have freedom to complete our jobs the ways we see fit; ignored by management when offering suggestions for improvement; ignored when asked for explanation on low wages; very low wages (for people with degrees in the field); no trust with upper management; job doesn’t seem secure when it's not fourth quarter
