Pros

Daily lunches every workday in sf office, different dishes every day. My favorites are Thai and sushi. Friendly coworkers. Nice work environment, every desk can be raised up to standing level, or lowered to be used as a regular desk. Board games, ping pong table, arcades. Awesome snacks.

Cons

No 401k matching. Long meetings, depends on your team.

Pros

Offices across multiple locations Sydney office has great perks Opportunities to travel to other offices to connect locally with team members Work from home policy is really relaxed and employees are offered a lot of autonomy Offices are filled with great employees and there is an opportunity to form strong bonds outside the office too

Cons

Roadmap Tetris is a big problem. Local PMs can find their roadmaps overridden or overloaded from senior management in the head office Context switching will cause lots of friction for developers on certain teams that are trying to deliver but then yanked off to other projects, often with little notice Chasing sales opportunities at all costs without a wider strategic view from the PMs running a team C suite are attentive to the needs of customers. This is a blessing and a curse. It’s great to see the CEO personally responding to customers, but it can also create an artificial sense of urgency when they demand for attention to be made. Unrealistic expectations on speed to delivery. CEO has made occasional references to the Sydney teams being lazy or less performant than American teams, even when producing the most value during a reporting period. Fly in and fly out management doesn’t always yield positive sentiment.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We appreciate hearing that you enjoyed the many perks we have to offer, and the ability to connect and form strong bonds locally and across the globe. Related to our roadmap and how we execute, I don’t disagree that context switching has a cost, and we always try to avoid or minimize those instances. Sometimes market dynamics change and we make the conscious decision to shift short term priorities. When we do make that decision though, we always engage the team to ensure everyone understands why and to give them the opportunity to recommend how best to achieve the agreed goal. To your point though, one improvement we’ve made in the last couple of months is to introduce a structure where 3 to 5 teams are grouped into a “pod” with designated pod leaders from Product Management, Engineering, Design and Program Management. Based on company goals and our global product stack rank, these leaders are empowered to make resourcing and other decisions related to how best to achieve our higher level goals. It’s still early days, but we’re already getting very positive feedback from the teams all while improving our confidence that we’re working on the highest value items. Again, we really appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

Pros

BC tends to attract and hire people who are smart, kind, innovative, and willing to take risks. There are a lot of opportunities to learn and grow. Competitive pay, free lunch Tuesday, yoga twice a week, discounted gym, stock options. IPO/Acquisition possibility.

Cons

The distance of office from ...anything really. Not many options for good food, everything is just OK to meh. Can't walk anywhere except Starbucks and HEB. Really wish we were downtown. Options v Grants
