Pros

Really cool people across offices Company valuation is on the upswing

Cons

Small subset of people that make decisions about people not in their direct organization Double talking is becoming the norm, not the exception No longer team or family atmosphere; looking out for self at the expense of others

Pros

Upper Management is intelligent and knows what they are doing. The e-commerce platform that they provide is the best in the market currently.

Cons

Human Resources makes up any reason to let you go. If you are a person who respects others, has high morals, works hard, has a great personality, enjoys helping others, and does not use foul language... DO NOT WORK for them. It's sad that the company is undermined by a group of jealous individuals who only care about keeping their jobs and removing anyone who they feel is a threat to their job security.

Pros

BigCommerce is truly a go big or go home atmosphere. We are very, very quickly growing startup in an industry that has already proven to be incredibly valuable (just check out Shopify's stock price and IPO history). Better yet, we hear from customers daily why they prefer us over our competition. That means the only thing we need to do now is continuing investing in what our customers love about us, amp up the visibility of it all and follow Brent, our fearless CEO, into the upper echelon of tech companies. A few benefits: - A testing atmosphere where no idea is too big, crazy or impossible. We have strong competitors, and we need the best minds in the game to help us compete. Do you have it? - Unlimited vacation << to keep that brain in tip top shape. Work hard. Vacation hard. - Smart as all heck people << Work with some of the best folks in the industry, including the up and comers you'll be real glad you met in your career now before they hit it big and stop responding to random emails (You'll be a friend then, sooo they will respond to you!). - Respect << Passionate? Good. Most of us are too, and want (no, need) to hear the opinions of others. One rule though: Have a negative opinion? Come to the table with a solution, other option or new idea. What you say matters, and affects how things get done. - Customer focus << These guys are our biggest advocates, and we are working diligently to get their brands more well known, not necessarily ours. We work in the background sometimes, but are endlessly rewarded for it by customers making more than $50M in annual revenue online. No joke.

Cons

Honestly, not everyone at the company "gets it." There can be a lot of project management, with execution falling to the same folks. That's changing though >> quickly. Upper management sees it, and is taking proactive steps to stop it in its tracks. Again, it's about respect, and listening to folks. Brent is a great example of this at the CEO level, and he has filled out his exec team to be leader on equal foot with him. It's a positive, smart place to be, even on the hardest of days. Plus, there' always RA who is a cheerleader in a CFO suit :) This turned in to a positive...whoops....
