beware of overtime.

Pros

Beautiful place to work. Couldn't be surrounded by more beauty than you are there.

Cons

They will expect you to work overtime during busy season but they dont' pay you overtime. They bank the hours for slow seasons. Fine if you are OK with that except that they don't make it optional and they do it illegally. They book the time as regular hours instead of time and a half. IE: work 50 hours during busy season, the normal job would pay you time and a half for the 10 you worked overtime. Biltmore books the 10 hours and during slow season you work 30 hours but they pay you for 40. They should book it as 15 hours. They rip hundreds of employees out of overtime pay. Also if you work ON the estate, you can get stuck in tourist traffic (even if not tourist traffic, the drive onto the estate can take 15-20 minutes after you turn off the public roads) and you don't get paid for any of this commute time.

Pros

Great Training and Opportunities, RIDICULOUS money (in restaurants), pay-gap for guests, co-workers are awesome.

Cons

Easy to get "stuck" in a position, some management can be favoritist to employees, but overall really fair, and their employee training sessions are beyond compare. Great benefits.
