The company has lost their way

Pros

Benefits, Career Growth Opportunities, Ability to build relationships with so many colleagues

Cons

Too many levels of leadership which leads to change taking a long time to happen and upper management being significantly disconnected from what employees need and handle on a daily basis. The way the individual departments are designed to protect their own P&Ls, leads to a significant divide and lack of support between departments. Even in guest recovery situations, it is difficult to get help from other departments as the answer is often “we are going to need a code to charge that to, we can’t be responsible for covering that cost”. Pay. As a whole, the company pays fairly low. An employee working for a luxury property, providing a level of Vanderbilt hospitality, should not be making the same as a line level worker at Chick-fil-a. Over the last few years the company has become very corporate. The feeling of working for a family owned company who once truly cared about their employees has been lost.

Pros

Loved my team! Small crew positive attitude. You choose what you want to do everyone works together by acknowledging strengths and weaknesses who needs or wants more training practice on what. We laugh. I've never had a job that makes hard work feel so fun and easy. Managers are amazing. Again I've never had bosses that makes you feel more confident when he or she walks into the room.

Cons

It can be a hot mess sometimes, out of date equipment. Creates good problem solving skills. Just remember you are paid by the HR not the job. Advice is just say yes to your task and don't be afraid to speak up if you find a better way. Don't always focus on the problems focus on the solutions.

Pros

It’s very beautiful there definitely.

Cons

I was sent over offer papers and hiring onboarding for the first 2 weeks before my stage. Once I got in there to my 1st stage the chefs there kindly told me I wasn’t what they were looking for. That’s fine, now my second stage, they had me basically work a shift, the chef talked to me before I left about my schedule and if itll be clear the next week. I said yes I’m moving my whole family up from FL. Then I heard nothing from the Bistro but was in contact with HR the whole time getting ready for my orientation but then later get an email stating that I wasn’t “aligned” with what they were looking for. And I get that but I already made life plans to switch to NC but now the rig is pulled out from under me.
