Worst job I’ve ever had

Pros

Long lunch break that is paid.

Cons

I’ve been in the bar/restaurant industry for 15 years, this is Amateur hour at best. No one has worked in the bar/restaurant industry before. No one knows what they’re doing. TONS of bullying, and even bullying by management. They tell you you’ll make 18-22 an hour, but don’t tell you they make you train for 3 weeks at 14$ an hour after taxes. You aren’t actually a server, you serve one day a week, you’re a dishwasher one day a week, you’re a prep cook one day a week, you host one day a week, and if you’re lucky and the staff doesn’t bully you into other jobs, you might get to bartend. They make you wear uniforms but only provide one outfit. I worked 4 days a week and they gave me one shirt, one vest with missing buttons, and I never even got pants. I worked there for a month. It was horrible. The job is a joke, save your money/mental health and work anywhere else in Asheville.

No transparency

Pros

Great and professional staff in fine dining!

Cons

No transparency with the company, more focused on a Forbes rating than guest experience and employee well being. No room to move or grow once in the company and poor food and beverage management from higher ups. Inconsistent policies and terrible pay rates for hourly and salary staff.

Good Benefits IF you're Full-Time

Pros

Full-time benefit, Company mission/vision, Family-oriented

Cons

Management is hit or miss. Some are fantastic to work with, while others are not. Extremely understaffed most of the time, especially in "Candlelight". Therefore, part-time and reserve staff work overtime to cover. It's rather annoying when they won't give you a full-time position with benefits but work you 40+ every week.
