Pros

Great Coworkers made the place tolerable.

Cons

Marketing is currently ineffective, and leadership seems unclear about its direction. They recently dismissed the leaders who were advocating for a marketing reorganization and brought in someone with no prior experience running a marketing department. Additionally, they let people go and redistributed their responsibilities to an already overburdened account team, without providing the necessary training. I joined this team expecting growth and stability, but instead, I've encountered the exact opposite.

Pros

Learn new industry, benefits are decent

Cons

I never thought that as a collector, that I would ever be in a position to go after my own company. But that's exactly what happened when I left here. Bio-techne flat out lied to me, and then attempted to avoid paying me my last paycheck. It was only after sending the an official demand for payment from the Colorado Department of Labor and threatening legal action, that I was finally compensated what I was owed. They held my last paycheck hostage which is blatantly unethical. Looking back in retrospect - talk about a mish-mosh of a clustered mess. The growth-at-all-costs attitude from the executive team ensures that the right arm doesn't know what the left is doing. No streamlining or workflow from one department to the next, resulting in confusing directives from management, processes that make absolutely no sense, and a general lack of direction. The pay was mediocre, but pales in comparison to similar positions that can be found out there. No appreciation of employees by management. Plan to be ignored and mistreat if you're simply one of the 'regular folk.' Turnover here is absolutely astounding. I can't tell you how many of my colleagues just seemed to up and vanish, never to be heard from again. The finance department specifically gets no kudos at all for their work, and is a dumping ground for problems no other department wants to take on. Leadership in this area is clique-y and based on who likes you, rather than actual merit or skill set. Don't plan to have any of your ideas taken seriously, much less implemented at any point. Factory-like in operation. You're just pee-on number 27 who's there to do busy work and pick up the mess that somebody else left. Unethical and inept HR team. No room for upward mobility or career development. Ultimately a good place to waste time and be mistreated is that's your thing.
