Pros

Medical benefits are really good. Training is readily available through partners, but you must be self motivated and willing to put in extra hours. Product can be fun to sell. Lots of free meals / happy hours.

Cons

Serious lack of organization and professionalism. Upper management does not invest in the technology available at a low cost from partners. Antiquated; Very heavy reliance on MS Excel and MS Word instead of software programs that could make the job easier. Lack of communication. Lack of pre-sales engineering support and resources. No sales database / management tools.

Pros

Very big product portfolio to sell.

Cons

No real stickiness with products. With most companies in IT you drive the business with Black Box, it is an add-on piece and subject to other drivers leading the sales.

Great People, Great Benefits, Great Company!

Pros

Great benefits, great salary. We are truly a leader in communications. We sell a variety of quality products, have talented, intelligent technicians & engineers and professional sales people. Our customer stay because of our expertise and excellent service. Our employees stay because its a great place to work! I'm approached by headhunters a few times per month, but I'm not interested. I'm at the right company and won't be going anywhere else. Most of our employees have been with the company 20+ years. Most of our competitors are going out of business and after 35 years we remain profitable.

Cons

Too many different entities within the company. Sometimes makes it difficult to sell in different territories.
