Pros

*Some of the best benefits around usually. *Competitive pay if you're an outside hire. *Great facilities, the new HQ building is beautiful. *Good stepping stone company to get some experience on your resume, especially if you're a recent college graduate. *Lower and middle management tend to be great and have your back. *Coworkers. Some of the best people I've ever worked with, and many I still consider friends.

Cons

*Little to no opportunities for training, even on future technologies being mandated to be used on a daily basis. "Just figure it out" is the way it's pushed many times. *Multiple policy changes are made on a regular basis without input from the people they impact. Example: When the new HQ building opened in 2018, almost all employees were required to stop working remotely no matter what their home situation was. There was almost no flexibility or care to what your home situation was, even if you'd been working remotely for years. *Every two to four years there are regular rounds of layoffs, many times for people with over a decade at the company. You do not have job security. Keep your resume up to date, you're easily replaceable. *Many positions are entirely metrics driven and your employment depends on hitting sometimes unobtainable goals. This is mostly for Support, Sales, and Professional Services roles. *Upper management often demands work be done on off hours if you work in a technical position. You can easily be required to work 60 to 80 hour weeks for multiple weeks straight without any extra compensation. (Don't be afraid to take your vacation days). You can expect to be called on your off days and holidays and be expected to work, even if you are not the on-call person. *Internal promotions tend to not have the pay increase that would come along if you were an outside hire going into the same position. *If you do not wish to go into management, there aren't many promotional paths. *So. Many. Meetings. Meetings about meetings. Meetings that should have been emails. I hope you like meetings!

Pros

The cafeteria is cool; always coffee available, cool team members

Cons

Team leads have minimum experience in leadership/management; not much room for growth - you end up stuck in a mundane position for at least a year before you can move to anything else; the base pay is unrealistic

Pros

Great mission, great people. Co-workers respect one another and are passionate about the organization and their work.

Cons

Growing by acquisition creates challenges that Blackbaud has been slow to address. Decision-making process is often lengthy and cumbersome.
