Pros

Enabling non-profit success. Amazing, dedicated peer colleagues in the lower ranks. Applications capable of solving NFP pain points/business process needs. Good benefits. Decent pay. Flexible work situations.

Cons

Muddled product road map (exacerbated by steady stream of acquisitions over last 10 years) make for tough going (for sales, for marketing, for implementation teams, for support, and especially for the market and current customers). True product stew. Near-zero professional development investment in staff - bring it with you when on-board or plan on obtaining on your own. Low/no succession planning or career path viability - once you're plugged into a role, plan on staying there: aka "gotta move out to move up". Low visibility/accessibility/accountability for mid+ management: expect a blackbox (pun intended) from management and take your orders when they come tumbling out. The antithesis of "employee managed".

Pros

Very few. Decent benefits. Good teammates.

Cons

This was a great company 5 years ago when I joined it. I believed in the product and the company was employee and client centric. That belief is what helped build it into the successful company it BA and. Two things changed that: it went public and it brought in a particular EVP. Policies changed. The bottom line became all that mattered. Bonus calculations changed to become more difficult. Recognition of individual success disappeared. Service to the client suffered. They consistently expected more and more for less and less compensation. They did a company wide employee survey and after a year and a half had hardly responded to or dealt with any employee concerns. Management doesn’t even respond to email messages.

Pros

- Working with the non profit clientele and feeling like you have an impact on their mission - 401k program - Wageworks program to deduct cost of public transportation before taxes - 4 weeks PTO and volunteer for vacation time

Cons

- No inclusion for remote employees (none of the perks in house staff gets, employee appreciation days, etc) - Low pay generally with no regard to cost of living - Lack of diversity throughout the company and in marketing/advertising sent out from corporate - GMG management team has no transparency regarding changes and has essentially said in meetings “you can either do what we are doing, or you can leave” creating a bad culture and trust issues - Verbal offer promised room for growth - was informed 6 months after hire that all reviews happen in April but you have to have been with the company a year. So if you start anytime after April, you’re waiting until the year after next. - Closed down remote offices and integrated WeWorks program which lacks the equitable perks to the updated Charleston office and ruined any chance of an office culture for those outside of SC
