Bad benefits. Wants to be a tech company but isn’t.

Pros

It’s a big corporation? The people are nice and want to do good work. It’s really not all that great place to work.

Cons

The benefits are horrible. Super expensive, they don’t allow you to use Walgreens Pharmacies and they don’t offer a lot of features. Pay is ridiculous - increases this year are less than last year, but company performance was better. How does that line up? They’re focused on the acquisition that was announced and really just seem to be looking for a payday for the executives.

Pros

Work from home opportunity, laid back and casual work environment.

Cons

I honestly have no idea how this company keeps afloat. There is no organization whatsoever. When a client has a concern or problem with their campaign, there is no logging system to keep track of their issues and relations. You literally email someone internally, hope they are the correct person who can help, and cross your fingers that they will respond. Most of the time they never responded, therefore keeping clients waiting. Management is terrible. There are no training opportunities and you are thrown in with your colleague who has no time to train you nor do they even want to train you. I was harassed by a co-worker on multiple occasions and notified my manager each time. He did nothing. After I left the company I actually heard she got a PROMOTION. After working for several other companies prior to Blackhawk, I could barely take this company seriously. I was honestly embarrassed to work there.

Pros

- After BHN acquired my company, they left us alone for awhile and things remained good

Cons

- BHN promised to create a "center of excellence" at our location (where we created an innovative eGift Card product that was the core of our company), but instead of doing that they -- put in a hiring freeze -- cut pay 20% during the first pandemic wave, even though eGift Card sales were way up -- cancelled merit based pay raises -- essentially stopped giving raises altogether -- forced arbitrary and destructive technology changes on us (G Suite -> Microsoft, Jira -> Rally, etc) -- meddled in how our teams operated with micro-managing mid-level executives -- and finally, laid off 20 people So much for creating a "center of excellence"
