Pros

From day one, everyone at Blink has been super supportive in getting me acclaimed to the complexities that plague our healthcare system in America. With all the new grounds Blink is breaking by providing affordable drugs to people nationwide, it has been a pleasure experiencing all the effort put into establishing an exciting and inclusive culture. Even when things go wrong, the teams here make it a point to learn from the wrongdoings rather than pointing fingers and searching for a person to blame. Nothing is ever completely peachy wherever you are, but considering Blink operates in such a tough industry, one that concerns the livelihoods of people all over, the effort in establishing a great company culture is one of Blink's many strong suits. I am more than glad for making the choice to sign on here and I am confident it was one of best choices I've made in my career.

Cons

Living the startup life is not easy and Blink is victim to some of the startup woes which include hairy codebases, some outdated documentation and sometimes unrealistic deadlines. Considering the company is growing at a fast pace, there is much hope that these problems will be remedied with well-staffed and capable teams

Pros

Hands down, definitely one of the smoothest onboarding experiences I've ever had. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and helpful from my first day all the way to the present. Even with a massive codebase and growth all around I never felt like I'd been left adrift or neglected. The documentation culture here is particularly strong and everyone takes extra care with reviewing your code and making sure you understand the concepts and architecture you're working with. Overall I have found Blink Health to be the kind of place every company should aspire to be like. People care here. They care about the product, about the process and about their teammates. This is not the type of company you'd typically find.

Cons

The company is undergoing some really rapid growth - blitzscaling being the accurate term. With that, there are growing pains and conflict/confusion and the occasional disorganization as teams move around. This is par for the course with any startup and, as usual, some people who have been here for a long time end up leaving in the transition. It can be jarring or overwhelming when someone leaves or when the focus is on bringing on more team members and getting everyone set up but it requires an understanding that we're all working to get to a solid foundation and a great jumping-off point.

Pros

- at one point, the engineering team was made up of the smartest people I've ever met - the mission attracts really awesome people - lots of free food

Cons

- the whole mission is about putting "humans first", but senior leadership seems more focused on setting unrealistic deadlines and meeting them than providing users with a reliable product and good experience - senior leadership tends to make business decisions in a very reactive, impulsive way, which leads to chaos and high stress for the teams that have to execute on those decisions - the turnover rate within engineering is extremely high, even for a startup - as senior engineers quit, the company started hiring a lot of junior engineers. the result was that the remaining senior engineers had increased mentoring responsibilities beyond capacity (in addition to holding up codebases with rapidly growing tech debt), and incoming junior engineers didn't have enough mentorship - overall engineering quality/caliber has decreased dramatically in last few years
