Supportive leadership and manageable caseloads
Pros
I worked at Blooming Behavior Services as a BCBA supervisor and had a wonderful experience. The company owner and clinical director were very supportive and involved. I felt that even though the position was in home, I still connected with the other supervisors through weekly meetings and team bonding events. Blooming puts a focus on growing the next generation of BCBAs (RBTs who are enrolled in an ABA masters program) by providing fieldwork hours. Caseloads felt small and manageable so that supervisors could provide quality supervision. As a BCBA, your schedule is very flexible (the BCBA gets to decide their own schedule for the week) and report writing is able to be done at home. I felt that work/life balance was very respected and encouraged at this company.
Cons
As with the nature of in home ABA, there can be long commute times (clients range from Coronado area to Otay Ranch).
