Pros

My overall experience at Blooming Behavior Services was positive. Blooming consists of a really welcoming, approachable, and knowledgeable team (both BCBAs & RBTs). The clients/families were wonderful as well and my favorite part of the job. I was always encouraged to ask questions if I had difficulty or misunderstood something in any aspect of my role. Also, my BCBA’s and the clinical director/leadership team I worked with were extremely accommodating and understanding when I had trouble with transportation. They really worked with me to figure out the best solutions for my clients and I.

Cons

There were a few cons but I found those to be common within ABA companies. Things like long drive times and client cancellations (however, you are offered make-up sessions or opportunities to do office work). The pay was also not very competitive. Although, the pros outweigh a lot of other ABA companies.

Pros

Blooming Behavior Services is the best ABA company I have ever worked for. The leadership team is down to Earth, professional, and respectful. They are accommodating to the employees' work/life balance. The company is growing steadily and expanding. It's great to work for a company that really puts its employees first and listens to what they have to say.

Cons

The drive times can be lengthy between clients. I know the company is working on reducing this issue though.

Pros

- Clients are absolutely amazing and wonderful to work with! - Small company, good company culture and lots of (mandatory) team-building events - Benefits including 401k and healthplans - Clean and easy to access office along I-805. - Parents attend parent therapy as part of services - Coworkers and BCBAs are amazing and wonderful to work alongside - Company making marked effort to improve communication between BCBA, BTs, and Client - Company offers substitute sessions, make-up sessions, and clerical work to make up for hours lost due to cancellations. - Again, amazing BCBAs and RBTs, as well as wonderful clients. The sense of community within the company is great, even if it can feel superficial at times from CEO (due to feedback/decline in communication).

Cons

- Inconsistent communication - Dramatic drop in communication/response toward end of employment, particularly among higher-ups. - Frequent technical difficulties due to poor devices, including data getting reset and signatures being erased or undetected. - Pay became uncompetitive after minimum wage in various fields increases earlier this year. - Long drive times between clients, driving through rush-hour traffics can become mentally tiring. - Concerns/Feedback can go unheard or with no response, or received poorly by CEO. - Hours can be VERY inconsistent depending on client. - Throughout my time with company there was a consistent high turnover, from both BCBAs and RBTs alike, with poor communication on who was with company and who had departed. Made it very difficult to address client family's concerns and the frequent turnover upset my clients. - Poor Work/Life Balance due to the drive times. Working a 30 hour workweek+ means having several hours of unpaid time (though mileage is compensated) between clients from very early in the day to very late.
