Pros

The company really cares about its employees! All of the extra touches from child care rooms, to being dog friendly, and having a van and truck that employees can borrow really go the extra mile!

Cons

The location is Kent is a toughy if you live anywhere other than kent or renton.

Pros

Collaborative, open communication, creative, and respectful environment. Fantastic perks e.g., bring your dog to work, free lunch on Tuesdays, and on site gym. You're challenged to come up with innovate solutions. Rapidly growing company.

Cons

Growing out of space. The closest Starbucks is a mile away.

Pros

Blue Origin has a singular focus of learning how to build better launch and space vehicles. The company is comprised of very bright and passionate engineers (and a few astronauts) who are given a remarkable amount of autonomy to innovate and improve technologies and processes for designing and building reusable launch and space vehicles. The management structure is relatively flat so that the company feels like a small start-up even as it grows past 500 employees. Being located in the Seattle area is a huge plus -- the Pacific Northwest is an amazing place.

Cons

Long hours are the norm at Blue Origin, but that is largely self-imposed. Striking a balance between work and other interests is challenging, but that is mostly because the work is so interesting, challenging, and rewarding. We are continually challenged to find innovative means to achieve aggressive schedules. Even with many outside interests, I find my mind constantly drawn back to what I am working on at Blue -- in a good way.
