Pros

A Paycheck. Able to run some projects freely.

During my time at the company, I experienced two acquisitions that led to significant cost-cutting measures and a decline in employee morale. The workforce was reduced significantly due to what appeared to be poorly planned acquisitions. This contributed to a sense of instability and uncertainty among the remaining staff. Additionally, the company's leadership underwent changes, with the CEO receiving a substantial bonus while the "SheEOs" departed with significant financial gains. This disparity in compensation, coupled with the lack of bonuses for regular employees, further eroded morale. The organization's focus shifted from client-centered care to profit maximization. This was evidenced by cost-cutting measures that compromised client safety, such as the installation of non-functional cameras following a serious incident. Furthermore, the new management team did not prioritize employee development or engagement. Promised mentorship and support failed to materialize, and regular meetings were consistently canceled. This lack of investment in employee growth hindered professional development and contributed to a sense of disengagement.

Pros

Helping kids / families No shortage of hours either directly at your clinic or by assisting other clinics who are drowning !

Cons

Compared to other companies, low PTO time, fewer holidays. Also, lower salaries. You are provided a “base” rate and then commission based on your billable hours. No annual raises or review for such. You must threaten to leave to be offered a salary increase. Also, inconsistent expectations. While assisting other clinics, I noticed the standards I was held to were not the same at other locations. As in reports / goals that had not been updated in 2+ years, goals that were inappropriate for the client or their skill level, not measurable, etc. I was talked with fixing these mistakes but when asked about teaching the senior level BCBA… I was told they were too busy. These behaviors continued with new clients as well, not just old.

Pros

Staff at the clinic are generally close-knit and have great relationships.

Cons

No work-life balance; they will be ok with you working 50-60 hours a week with no praise or appreciation. Market Directors and Area Vice Presidents are completely out of touch with reality when it comes to managing their centers. There is no comprehensive OM training, you just get slapped on the wrist for not knowing what you don't know. Area Vice President sends an insane amount of emails copying the whole region and berating centers who are having trouble meeting goals, going through a rough patch, etc. without paying mind to the context of the clinic. The amount of changes that happen simultaneously paired with very poor communication makes for a huge disaster. Overall, the amount of effort you put in gets you nothing in return. The company harps on feedback but I never had any kind of formal review. They treat everyone like they are disposable.
