Pros

No lack of work for 2017. Compensation is average to above average. Many projects are running concurrently at this point.

Cons

Unorganized and inefficient. Prompts people that are perceived to be high quality. Compensation for employees has been continuously reduced, no matching of company stocks, no per diem any more for those that travel.

Pros

I loved working with the customers, they were the best part of my job. My immediate co-workers that were on my team were pretty awesome as well. We truly were like a big family, and even now, I miss them.

Cons

Where do I start? I worked in the training center, and it was impossible to get anything done. The environment was worse than middle school. It was an us against them mentality with all of the departments, no one wanted to help each other, let alone work together. It created a very toxic work place. And my immediate supervisor, while on a personal level, they were a genuinely nice person, professionally, they could have done a lot more. And don't even get me started on the sales team. The company went through major layoffs and restructuring while I was there, which resulted in the loss of 1000's of jobs for normal workers, and the creation of numerous mid-level management positions that were completely unnecessary. In addition to all of that, I watched numerous co-workers get passed over for new positions due to the color of their skin or their gender, or because they weren't a favorite. This may only be applicable to this particular location. There was a sister site in Canada. The sister site is not nearly at the level as the one in Dallas. This created issues to numerous to list here, but I will say this. When one site is carrying the load for both of them, it is never a good situation.

Pros

Neat technology, interesting ideas on rail. Travel Project Management is ok, some good ones.

Cons

- Management doesn't stand up for employees, rolls on them, and doesn't want to hear it. - Weak management, fold under to unrealistic schedules - Management wants code monkeys who follow tasks without question, even with minimal input.. Too used to dealing with contract help. - Extremely cliquey and political - Management has zero interest in morale at this point. - Fiefdoms over code, especially legacy code. - Firefighting mode results in CM nightmare. Documentation exists, but poor and ourdated.
