Pros

They'll hire just about anybody if they can make a decent resume and interview fairly well. AKA, it's a foot in the door for people early in their career. The office is comfortable and dog-friendly. Game room is a plus.

Cons

The people are generally nice but very cliquey. Terrible benefits. No 401k, no matching, no unlimited PTO, and really just no benefits that are common to the tech world. You'll get 5k deductible health insurance, that's it. Terrible pay, but hey, it's a place to get your feet wet. Expect about 50-75% the going salary for your position. The tech is pretty stagnant. It's a custom built PHP framework sitting atop a LAMP stack. They're not really trying to break the mold with new web technologies.

Pros

Hard working, kind, and fun people work at booj. Somehow the company manages to find great people to work for them which made it easy to be there day-to-day.

Cons

Project Managers make an embarrassingly low salary for working 40+ hours a week and being 'on call' 24/7. There is an incredibly high turnover rate of Project Managers.

Pros

Some nice and competent people work there but the rest of the perks are geared toward children and they will treat you as such.

Cons

Pretty much everything. They have a tech stack built on a 4+ year dead PHP version. I led the project to upgrade to a less dead version and added local development. In 2018 this company was (and still is) using a single server development structure. The only benefit that came with this in 2000 was consistent environments but the system architects can not keep the two systems aligned so you spend hours/days/weeks dealing with 'it works on dev but fails on production'. It's absolutely unacceptable. The company hires juniors and trains them to work on their failing product, they do not invest in the people or their careers. Working here will not prepare you for any real development career. The two seniors on my team did not know PHP and commonly rewrote internal PHP functions. They also had a propensity to treat less knowledgeable employees in condescending ways while telling them complete falsehoods. It's the absolute worst job I have ever had in the tech industry. If you care about tech in any way, stay far away from this place.
