Not as good as it used to be!
Pros
Most people you find working in Boots stores are lovely and very easy to get on with. This makes a great working environment. There is quite good scope for promotion through the ranks too. Although I felt held back a bit if you stick at it and can take knocks then you can easily become an area manager.
Cons
If you are not 'legendary' in every way then they can make you feel very undervalued and ignore you. There are terrible staffing shortages which just keep getting worse and worse even though we are constantly told that we need to improve our customer service. There are a lot of false promises in the company too. I have been told different things so many times about my contract and pay. The benefits are ok although the bonus is nothing to shout about if you fall into their approved ratings and there are very few incentives for staff if you work in any store apart from the really big flagships.
