Pros

Private Company, Still Family Supportive. As company grows, so does potential. German conservative thinking is strong on quality, appreciative of the American work ethic, and a genuinely great culture to work for. Great opportunity to get exposure in many areas with many different people.

Cons

As company grows, so does the the need for rules and procedures..... Liability is a bear. Management in different departments has formed as a result of cliques. Competence is there, but Management Skills are not possessed. American business habits can create a disconnect from the German virtues of quality, pride, and performance. The American worker needs to take time to understand the German culture a little.

Pros

Stable, consistent methods of performance, strong benefits and an opportunity to work in a global giant

Cons

Communication skills are poor amongst employees and particularly in leadership. Passive/Aggressive behavior dominates most situations. Leadership response to tough situations is to scapegoat others and shun responsibility. Consistently falsely advertise many claims to employment offers/opportunities and use the large bureaucracy to hide/not respond to issues

Pros

Being privately held insulates the company from problems that plague many others in industries in which it competes. In this same regard, they're not particularly fond of letting people go, preferring to find a new position for them within the company if necessary. Pretty responsive to emplyee personal needs, most management is flexible.

Cons

As in many companies, decision making gets drug out too long, due in part to having "too many cooks in the kitchen". Then, to try to make up the cost, push sales way too hard. There are "yes men" around throught the entire worldwide organization.
