Pros

PTO, salary, work from home

Cons

Where do I start?! Management is TERRIBLE! They treat you like subordinate children, you have no autonomy. Communication coming down from management is rude, condescending, and gives off “if you dont like it, tough you can leave” which I am so glad I did. I was so burnt out, depressed and stressed. For it to be a mental health agency, it did a number on my own mental health. Dealing with the patients wasnt the problem, the problem is dealing with the company. Constant pressure, demands, rigid expectations, ZERO flexibility in your schedule led to major burnout. Absolutely no work/life balance. Again, for a mental health agency, the frontline employees who are caring for others should be taken care of so they can do quality work. Their focus is QUANTITY over QUALITY. Numbers, numbers, numbers thats all that matters to them. I could go on and on about how terrible the experience was but the long and short of it is STAY AWAY!

Pros

Health insurance, good PTO, supportive management and team, work from home, company has great programs and groups in additional to individual therapy and medication management. I would recommend to someone who really loves being a therapist and exploring all specialities.

Cons

Brave Health is becoming another community health agency. If you are someone who has worked in community health you know what I mean. Get them in, get them out. Clients are becoming just a number. Caseloads will be high with expectation to see 5-6 clients a day but 8 will be scheduled daily. Yes often times only 5-6 show up. But there is a disregard for the fact you are still responsible for 50+ clients. They do not care anymore what you actually specialize in. You get what you get. Clients are being pushed to drop in frequency of appointments regardless if client doesn’t want to because you are all they have right now.

Pros

you can work from home

Cons

This company does not respect its providers and treats them as expendable. Training is rushed so they can start making a profit off of you as quickly as possible, leaving you ill-prepared for the chaotic work environment. They recently switched to a new EHR system and gave minimal guidance, forcing providers to build entire charts from scratch with no meaningful support. There is an extreme lack of support staff—good luck getting any help because the organization doesn’t even answer phone calls. There are no licensed personnel available to assist providers, and you’ll be expected to handle everything, from scheduling to informing patients their insurance is invalid, to creating treatment plans because therapists are constantly quitting. Patient care is lacking, and be prepared for many patient complaints. As if that weren’t enough, they have now placed a therapist—who was openly hostile toward providers before she was in this role—in charge of the medication management clinic instead of a physician. She wants to change everything without understanding the implications for patient care. This is just the tip of the iceberg. If you’re a provider considering working here, run in the other direction. The disorganization, lack of support, and blatant disregard for clinical staff make this an incredibly toxic workplace
