Promising Initially, but Disappointed

Pros

- The people at Bridgepoint were friendly enough and would lend a helping hand if asked - Challenging Projects and encouragement to grow in knowledge - Utilization was not the only thing driving bonuses, diversified areas of employee performance

Cons

- If you didn't live in Austin, TX - there wasn't much of a company culture. It felt quite exclusive, siloed, and there was a huge gap of communication between management and consultants - Was laid off without any sense of forewarning, could not finish the workday, no severance package, and all contact cut off except for a single truly kind individual with whom I did not work directly with - Manager/Mentor structure, promotion structure, and ability to contribute to workplace culture non-existent though they acted as though you could make an impact if you cared to - Pigeonholed into working on only what you know - No diversity of people or thought

Pros

- Work-life balance isn't just a saying here, it is actually encouraged. My managers consistently check in with me regarding priorities I may have outside of work, and they ensure that I am not being over-loaded. - Plenty of opportunity fo network with big names in the Company in both professional and social settings. - Great pay and extremely flexible time-off policies are enforced. - Plenty of opportunity to expand your skillset through assignments, skills trainings, and the new CPE tool that was introduced. - No micromangement. Management trusts you to understand and prioritize your assignments as you see fit, and to also reach out if you have questions. - Quarterly bonuses - Great benefits options including company 401k match. - Monthly allowance (depending on years served) to purchase just about anything you would like that you will get reimbursed for.

Cons

- Not much of a con, but there can be some slow periods during the year for niche practices (none too drastic from my experience so far however), but you always have the opportunity to jump in and help on other assignments from other practices that you may have the skillset for, or that you may be interested in learning.

Pros

The people (direct managers & co-workers), the employee events, development potential, and fluidity of work options being able to learn alot with each new client engagement.

Cons

Ambiguity of client requirements, on site, hybrid, remote, etc. You really never know where you're going to be.
