There is a lot of autonomy in each local office. They promote from within. ResCare allows innovation and creativity. It recognizes strengths and lets people work in areas of their strengths. The people are honest and are great to work with!
Cons
Knowledge from the central office does not get communicated to local offices. You could be doing great work but if the funder does not like you then you are likely out! Although it is a for profit company it is run much like a non for profit given our sources of funding.
I have great full time, long term (senior) staff who have helped me learn the business the past two years. I have been able to put together a team of people that I trust and we work together in a small office. I know the care my staff (and I) provide is the best care my consumers will receive.
Cons
Although I am apart of 'management' the upper management is very unorganized and leaves my team and I to do and learn most things on our own. That appears to be be getting better.
