Pros

The individuals that we serve are by far the best part of this company! There are many great employees who strive, despite company created obstacles, to give our individuals the best quality of life available.

Cons

Pay is horrible, minimum wage for direct support staff, a couple dollar an hour increase for management and educated program managers, no raises in at least 7 years, horrible benefits (family premium is 1000/mo with a 12000/year deductible before it contributes), upper management will not back up employees of any standing, poor morale in this branch to say the least. The company boasts a 4.5 billion net profit this past year but states they don't have enough money to provide the developmentally disabled consumers a Christmas party. They are all about the bottom line and feel that every employee is easily replaceable, despite their caring attitude and dedication to quality of care.

Pros

Having the opportunity to work with the lovable clients who make a good living for upper management. Direct care workers are paid a little above minimum wage. People who assist others to live a life should make twice the amount they make. It is not easy to find people who can actually care for other people and help them live a better life rather than being in an institution.

Cons

There isn't any support. If problems occur and you follow the chain of command you still get nowhere. Double talk and accusations are all you can expect to receive when you present a problem to management. The problems lies with how you "perceive it". I say this because I went to upper management with an issue of a supervisor disrespecting me and I was told I "perceived " it wrong. I am an educated person and know unprofessional ism when I see it and I know when I am being talked down to. The problems still exist because they are covered by double talk and double standards. A supervisor can disrespect lead or a direct care worker but neither one can disrespect a supervisor. that is what management at ResCare does.

Pros

As a stepping stone into the County of Orange to be a Social Worker. The population we serve needs our help and it's rewarding to see people get jobs as a result of our assistance.

Cons

Poor management, lack of respect regardless of how long you've been there. Low pay and poor, uneducated and young management with little experience in life in general. An unexpected meeting can be called at any given time due to a rumor that is said or hear say.
