Potential is there, but execution is not

Pros

Great place to learn and get experience if you're starting off in your career.

Cons

CEO - Lack of people skills. He lacks the ability to inspire the workforce. People feel unappreciated and neglected especially if you're not part of the sales organization. Benefits/perks: offerings are below industry standards. no 401k match. HR: they are a hot mess. not sure what is going on there, but seems like they don't have the ability to execute on things.

Pros

- Great Pay & Commission Structure - No micromanagement in Chicago office - Work/Life balance - Great opportunity for growth and promotions that are clear-cut and attainable - Playbook is proven to work, while still making it "your own." I've been working in the Chicago office for 2.5 years now, and its been incredible ride to see how much the office has grown since I started. I love working at BrightEdge because it offers everything I've always wanted in my role and career - selling an awesome product that works, amazing pay/commission structure and benefits, being a part of a collaborative team, NO micromanagement whatsoever, and the opportunity to grow into different roles with attainable promotion metrics. It takes hard work to succeed as an Account Executive, so it's not a "walk in the park" type of role and there is some over-time to be expected, but this has not impacted my life outside of the office. Unlike the other reviews I see on here speaking to a poor work/life balance, our Manager here in Chicago has always encouraged us to have a life outside of work so I've never felt that my work/life balance has been a struggle. I also love how much of a team-player mentality BrightEdge has as a company that extends outside of this office. You can call up anyone in different offices and they are more willing to help, and you also have access to Senior level VP's that can help you on calls or sales/product training's.

Cons

I really can't think of anything outside of no 401K match.

Pros

- SEO is interesting - Decent Pay

Cons

- The entire initial discovery call with any client is an hour long scripted call you are expected to memorize, down to every last sentence. This takes away any diagnostic skills out of the picture and turns you into a drone. - Vere off script and try to be penalized -many opportunities are left on the table to make more money from a large client and we turn away many smaller clients instead of using logic when selling - High Turnover - Only 15 days of PTO you get guilt tripped when you use - Expected to BE THERE from 6am to 6pm or get treated worse, sorry I have a family and life outside of work - Micromanagement
