Pros

In my time at BrightEdge I've enjoyed great career advancement and a huge opportunity to help the company expand. Along the way I have been able to work with great customers. It's been a very rewarding experience.

Cons

The office space could be better. Training new people was an issue but it seems to be better now. Hard work, but it's hard work focused on great opportunities so it is well worth it.

Pros

1. Meritocracy - company is driven by results and reward people well for making an impact. 2.Collaborative - everyone's goal is to create a huge impact for the company and all employees work with each other. I havent seen much of personal egos or politics. 3.Smart - a high bar in terms of the calibre of people hired. 4.World-class product and product team - the product team consists of brilliant engineers and customer-focused managers. Shows in the quality of the product, which is light years ahead of anyone else in the space.

Cons

As with most startups, there might be a tendency to get carried away by tactical activities while losing sight of the strategic. The good thing is that there is a culture of open feedback and we all course correct when that happens. Lots of customers and extremely fast growth means lots of work . But that's a great problem to have. :)

Pros

BrightEdge has a very tough interview process that brings in great, very intelligent, hard-working people. The product is top-notch thanks to an amazing, dedicated Engineering team. The team is very small so it's possible to be proactive and take on a large amount of responsibility in a small amount of time and learn a lot more about a business than you would anywhere else.

Cons

I joined BrightEdge very excited to work in a fast paced, "work hard, play hard" environment where I could skip the bureaucracy of a large corporation, learn quickly, and help a company grow. I quickly learned it was always just work hard, work hard and receive little acknowledgement or reward for high performance. Despite all of the promises of opportunities to grow during the recruiting process, I learned that no one on the management team will really help to facilitate that - you need to push for your own opportunities here. It is rare for managers to go to bat for you. Employee development and satisfaction is a very very low priority for this company. Executive decisions were unilaterally made without incorporating the feedback of the team - not at all what I was looking for in a start-up. There is no transparency, even when it comes to matters that directly involve your role in the company. Compensation is not great - you are paid a low hourly wage and expected to work 60+ hours a week in order to earn overtime and earn what would be a below-average annual salary considering the caliber of people they are hiring. With the extremely high employee turnover and large volume of customers you will regularly work 70+ hours a week to keep up with the workload.
