Pros

Fun industry (could have been) and decent facilities

Cons

This was by far the worst professional experience of my life and I have consulted for hundreds of companies over the years. The founder and CEO has created a culture of backstabbing, self promotion, sabotage, paranoia, and distrust. This culture was perpetuated by his direct report hires that lacked the experience, integrity and the ability to tell him the truth. Immaterial directives are given on a daily basis which created an atmosphere of constantly firefighting areas that should be given very little attention by C-level executives, like expense reports or invoices for under $500. His Chief of Staff and his direct report run around barking at the rest of the company to carry out meaningless directives. Anyone that was worth anything in the open market in their profession left within months to a year. The people that stay are there because have to be and they get paid more than they should. During my time there (only ~1 year) nearly the entire legal, HR, Accounting, and Finance teams turned over because the company doesn't value anyone outside of sales and they treat them that way. I ran for the door with equity on the table because I figured it was going to be worthless given the lack of time given by the executive team to strategically thinking about how to grow in favor of auditing everyone in the company's emails. I wish none of this was true, but unfortunately it is. This is the first and probably last review I'll write for a role / company, but it was such a bad experience for me and my entire team that I have to warn anyone considering working here. If you have any other alternatives, save yourself and look elsewhere.

Pros

Brightedge is a hot mess but here are some good parts. Most of the employees are nice smart and eager to help. Onboarding for new hires program is strong. If you are a recent grad starting a career in sales this is good training. The office is nice if you like to work in the middle of suburban sprawl., You can really learn a lot about seo sem and content marketing!

Cons

The ceo jim Yu is a control freak who drives his staff to overly long lengths collecting metrics so he can see data on every aspect of the company performance. Mostly it seems like a hobby for him and he loves having accurate sales forecast but he does make some management decisions based on numbers. I understand manage what you mesaure and measure what you manage but this is to an extreme. He does not take human subjective points into his mind. Most of his direct reports are afraid to push back because they fear for their jobs so they wind up basically being "yes" people who do whatever he says and they push his attitude down the chain. They are overworked and have no time to look for other jobs or many of them would leave and some have. CEO manages at overly detailed tactical level. There is a lot of employee churn (and I think too much customer churn). My team was trying to sell renewals but many customers didnt see the value in the product so they would churn fully or partial. Lucky for Jim his new logos sales team is very strong (mostly young university grads starting off) so that has made up for some renewal churn but that is not a sustainable arrangement.

Pros

The only pro here was the compensation wad competitive and i met a few friends who also jumped off that sinking ship. Also learned alot about SEO.

Cons

Do not work here if you dont like being MICROMANAGED. Work life balance was horrible and there is absolutely no loyalty from upper mgmt, evsn if you made presidents club year before.Culture sucks and founder/ceo wont let control go to someone who knows how to take company to next level.
