Across the Board Positives: Culture, Technology, Leadership
Pros
I have been an employee at Brighterion for over five years and have experienced exponential improvements across the board during that time. The acquisition by Mastercard in 2017 brought with it a number of changes, all of which were positive. The culture of learning, innovation and acceptance at Mastercard is second to none in the technology industry. Business Resource Groups (LGBTQ, Latin, Women in Leadership, Women in Tech, etc) help create an environment of acceptance. Learning and innovation are encouraged as is evident during the annual Innovation Week and the Take Initiative hackaton. Five paid volunteer days per year mean you can take a day (or 5!) to donate your time to a cause of your choice - food bank, SPCA, clean the beaches - you name it and yes, it is a PAID day off. I could go on and on about the awesome culture. The technology speaks for itself - actually the clients do all the talking - just watch the testimonial videos on the Brighterion website. The leadership is second to none. The Head of Brighterion, Sudhir Jha, is a level headed, strategic thinker with a powerful vision to take Brighterion to the next level while continuing to help establish Mastercard as a tech leader.
Cons
It can be a challenge learning to navigate the bureaucracies of a large multi-national corporation with a $280b market cap. However, if that's the pitfall of success, I'll take it.
