Pros

Brightline's draw is being a company that's mission-driven, founder-led and getting to have impact. I work w/ driven, smart, passionate people interested in solving complex problems. The culture is collaborative and there’s genuine alignment around making mental health care more accessible.

Cons

Similar to other startups expect ambiguity, tight timelines, smaller teams, consistent change, with the purpose of pursuing some exciting new initiatives.

Pros

- Good career growth for those who want it. Lots to do. - Low strike price for options due to multiple down rounds.

Cons

- Brightline grew too big too quick. Raised a lot of money and burned thru it astonishingly fast trying to find what works and makes money (still hasn't found the answer). - As a result, the company went through 4 layoffs. A couple weeks before each layoff, leadership would get in front of the company during the All Hands meeting and say that runway was healthy and there was no risk of layoffs. - Planning roadmaps is essentially a moot exercise that gets thrown out when leadership reacts to the board. - IC talent wasted by, in my opinion, managers and leadership that got in early and climbed the ladder. - One of the co-founders is not involved and many of the C-suite have resigned. Attrition is bad overall. - I'm not even on the clinical team, but I can see that they are being treated as second-class citizens.

Run don’t walk.

Pros

Teams, group consults, client matching.

Cons

Forced reductions in hours, 3-4 rounds of layoffs already, salary cuts, instability. Always feeling like “what’s going to happen now” kind of like walking on eggshells. Hiring other clinicians and staff while laying everyone else off. Celebrating others while laying others off, a lot of favoritism.
