Pros

The residents for the most part. When you help them, the ones who aren't abusive appreciate good care

Cons

The lack of professionals and team work. The distrust and disloyalty and cattiness.

Pros

The pros of working at Brightview as a Vibrant Living Assistant outweighed a lot of the cons. - Build relationships with residents and create a personal bond with them (learn interesting story’s and history) - Great benefits (health insurance, lectures to learn more, small raises each year) - Great co workers (not all but most of them were wonderful to work with) - Free employee lunch with multiple options - Lots of learning experiences I did learn a lot of new skills working this job. There were a lot of things that were worth it.

Cons

There were something’s I would say that made the time working here stressful. You work hands on with the residents and became very close with many. Management dropped the ball when it came to telling employees (especially ones who were in close contact with..) when a resident had passed. Days would go by and co workers and I would wonder were someone had been and through a grape vine you’d find out they passed. They tell you there is room for advancement and growth but I did not see any of that in my time working there. I feel that management also got a lot of praise for the work that regular employees did. You can get a raise once a year.. but the percent of your raise is based on a “review” and you could do great but one small thing will prevent you from the full percent in raise. And the last thing would be that I feel that management did a very minimum effort job to keep employees feeling truly comfortable doing their job with issues from other co-workers. That is one of the main reasons I left this company.
