Pros

Agency support and tech support have been great. Their recent improvements to their logo, website, and other technical stuff was nice.

Cons

Horrible carrier appointments. I feel scammed. As an agency owner I depend on my carrier appointments. Their website promises all of these carrier appointments but I did not get a single name brand carrier! In addition, they gave me carriers that only take on high risk clients. Which meant catering to my family, friends, neighbors was next to impossible. You can only "email" every department there except for Agency Support and Tech support. I was never told this!! There were alot of horrible things I found out after I started my agency. I can technically email amazon too, I don't need to pay a franchise fee for that!!! As soon as I opened the doors to my agency I got hit with a huge surprise bill from them. It was never clearly communicated with me that all of these pass through charges would start accumulating and pushing me into debt way before I opened my agency. I was shocked when I got the bill, and they threatened to cancel my franchise agreement if I didn't pay!!! Meanwhile there is no way to call that department. All I can do is email them, and continue to get automated messages from them. Just horrible. They have something called AMS 360. This is like some kind of software from the 90s that is the backbone to your agency!!! You need to know AMS 360 inside and out to get paid, plus this software is very expensive. I don't know how products like AMS 360 even exist in this cut throat technology world we live in. If I were to do it all over again I would start an independent agency and buy into an association that has bargaining power with the carriers. You just need to belong to a large association and you can get carrier appointments that way. You don't need to buy a franchise with them! Getting carrier appointments by yourself is next to impossible but its very possible when you're represented by a large association. I have been to hell and back with this company.

Thank you for your positive feedback on our agency support and technology teams. While we are disappointed that your carrier appointments have not met your expectations, we do proactively advise prospective Brightway agents in challenging markets that many top-rated carriers are seeking to reduce their exposure in these markets and are not currently offering appointments to any new agents. This includes independent agency appointments as well. We continue to work with over 100 carriers, including top-tier national brands, to provide our agents with the best available options for their particular geography. Separately, we agree on your technology assessment and are currently introducing proprietary technology across our agency base that is vastly improving the way our agents operate on a daily basis. Initial response has been overwhelmingly positive, and we expect to have all agencies operating on our new quoting and customer management platform in 2025. Please reach out directly to your Agency Support Team Leader to discuss potential solutions for your concerns.

Pros

I like the people i work with

Cons

the environment, you want to pacify us with things instead of giving us more money, you always talk about how much we help and you wouldn't be where you are without our help, then show us. Don't pacify us with food trucks or $25 gift cards. We bring out lunch any other day of the week, the food truck once in a blue moon means nothing. You don't offer sick days, we have to use PTO for everything. What if i just went on a trip and now used PTO , i have to come to work sick and risk every one else, allow an accruance of hours to use as a sick day SEPARATE from PTO or allot so may in a quarter. The medical that is offered is a little high for what it covers, the vision benefits decreased yet still paying the same amount. You have employees doing the work of 3 or more people and yet don't want to pay them for the work they do, but you appreciate us right?!?!?!?!?

Thank you for taking the time to let us know what you think and for your honesty. We're glad to hear you enjoy your team at work. Brightway strives to offer a competitive benefits package to employees along with perks such as our annual offsite event for employees and their families, Employee of the Month/Quarter/Year recognition and special lunches to show employees appreciation. Last year, we added tuition assistance to our benefits offering and are always receptive to suggestions on how we can improve. We take your comments seriously and are working hard to retain employees and to empower managers to build trusting relationships within their teams.

Pros

Easy access to training guide online. Phone number for help desk. No punch card or time card. One hour for lunch.

Cons

Worked for Brightway Preston Trail. I was promised salary plus commission when hired. I sold to my own friends and family and then was fired. I was never paid a penny for any of my commissions on any of my closings. At this location he has his licensed agents do all the paperwork under his license and his name only, not your own. He then promises you will still be paid your commission miraculously through TriNet. He hires licensed agents to do all the work then steals your money and moves on to the next victim / employee. I'm sorry to be so negative but this was my experience.
