Pros
They've got money, and aren't immediately closing my facility
Cons
I'm part of the Nanostring acquisition, and I'm heavily disappointed in it so far. Bruker does not offer domestic partner health care coverage. Bruker does not have a paternity leave policy. Bruker will, essentially, give you the protections they're legally required to by your state, but seems to have no interest in going beyond that. I'm heartbroken to be working for a place that was completely fine with making their gay employees second class citizens up through 2016, and is so gender essentialist that they clearly don't think men should be involved with raising their children. Their PTO policies are also regressive, they're continuing the terrible compensation of Nanostring, and we all lost our stock grants without getting offered any Bruker stock, but that sort of penny pinching is just what I expect these days and wasn't nearly as much of a shock. Additionally, for a company that's acquired as many companies as Bruker has, I really expected them to be better at this. Their internal systems are rocky to say the least and HR and Payroll don't seem to communicate with each other.
