Pros

The other employees are fun to spend time with. Raises are given in a fair manner to everyone. Fun atmosphere because there is constantly something going on.

Cons

Few bonuses or perks. The days can get long with few breaks. Dealing with parents who get upset easily is sometimes worse than dealing with the kids.

Pros

Wonderful workplace, best environment I have ever been in while working in retail. The children always have such great stories and the people that you work with are so much fun! The company offers great games to motivate their employees and an end of the year party in which they pay for everyone to either go do something together or buy something for each of the employees. Overall it is such a wonderful place to work I would highly suggest it to anyone looking for a spot in retail!

Cons

Low pay, the BAB motto is that if you have to ask what the compensation is for a job, then you are not right for the job. An employee should care about the people and the place they work for, and not the price you are being paid.

Pros

I have been in retail most of my life and I have been with a handful of different companies throughout that time. When I came to Build-A-Bear I was amazed at how great of a company it was. They give us information for promotions and launches in enough advance that we can ensure everything is executed smoothly. The advancement opportunity is great if you are willing to grow with the company. The benefits are extremely affordable and the pay is competitive. This is a company that truly appreciates it's employees. I have yet to leave work in a worse mood than when I arrived. I have never been able to say that before. The upper management is great with communication and education.

Cons

Payroll has tightened quite a bit and it makes it hard to run the store efficiently when we can't have some one stationed at every station to provide the best customer service.
