Pros

I enjoy working here, I would not choose to leave willingly, and I've been here for over 6 years. Room for growth is great. I have and will continue to recommend people to come work at Bullhorn. Awesome culture and great benefits.

Cons

* Like any company, good managers/supervisors can make or break individual contributors. In most of my time at Bullhorn, my supervisors have been wonderful, but I've had 1-2 bad experiences where I felt like was blind-sided with major developments/changes that directly impacted me. * Compensation could be better. It goes in cycles of being what you feel like you deserve to earn with the amount of work you do and then feeling like it's on the lower end of the market value.

Happy to see you've loved your six years here! I agree, it's really hard when you have a bad management experience. I encourage any employee who might be struggling to share those challenges with an HRBP, or leadership in a skip level. :) - Kelley Morse, CPO

Pros

A lot of servers - if you like lots of data - this place has it. Stack was all physical and almost no VM's.

Cons

Abusive environment and toxic culture. Turnover was constant for the DBA. On call was 168 hours of misery and it was often. Management did not want to hear they were doing things wrong; updating statistics does not fix everything. You need to dig deep to fix issues rather than let sysadmins have their way.

We're very sorry you had this experience. We have had some leadership challenges in the DBA team and have worked hard to fix them. However, the culture you described is not representative of our organization. We encourage all employees, current and former, to take advantage of our confidential open door policy and share feedback/concerns directly with HR and/or leadership. We wish you the best of luck. -Kelley Morse, VP, Talent & BPs

Pros

Having unlimited PTO is nice WFH options are flexible

Cons

the product department is in an unfortunate state of collapse with almost everyone who is good at their jobs has left or is going to leave soon. the turn over rate is quite high (over half of the my team has left this year). managers are often inappropriate and unprofessional (in my experience at least), and are not held accountable when taken to HR and senior leadership. every employee is told they can and will likely get a promotion at the 6 month mark but this has never actually happened to anyone i know who has worked there. it feels quite icky of recruiters to convince people to take below-market salaries with promises of quick pay increases that are unrealistic (promotions happen on the usual timeline of 1-1.5 year after starting) below industry-standard pay for most roles
