Pros

The people I work directly with are fantastic. The job itself has many challenging moments, but is not overly difficult. The hours are 8:00-5:00 5 days a week.

Cons

Management has unrealistic expectations on deadlines and an even worse expectation on workloads.

Pros

Working at BIS I was able to gain a lot of skills that were able to be put towards my other positions after working here.

Cons

The pay and benefits are well below average. After leaving I found out that I was one of the higher paid people and still had a hard time living paycheck to paycheck. Don't plan to make any real money till you've been here 10+ years. Also plan to get to figure out who makes the big bucks by what's in the parking lot, there is no hiding the much larger paychecks by managers and sales

Pros

I have been at BIS for 14 years and have found it to be a great learning experience. If you want to advance in your technical knowledge, BIS is the place to be. BIS is a fast growing company and offers job stability to those that are willing to work. I am part of a team and every member is great to work with. We are very much like a family and there is no strife in our department. The manager does his best to see that employees are trained and are ready to do the assigned job before letting his employees fly solo. Support is great, if one has a problem that they can't solve, Their is always someone that is willing and able to help. Benefits are good for the times we live in. They are equal to or better than most employers, There are opportunities for advancements for those who apply themselves and promotions are given from within when possible. If you enjoy travel, there are positions within the company that allow for that. Management has always worked with me and been very fair when I have needed to be off due to illness or other justifiable reasons. As long as one does their best for the company the company will treat you fairly. lastly we get an hour for lunch which is nice.

Cons

Hours are 8:00 to 5:00 which can make getting personal things done a little hard since most placed are closed by 5:00 pm Starting salaries can be low but on the plus side pay increases are good, depending on performance of course. Travel is required especially for those who work in the Service Department. Other Departments have to travel but not as extensive. So, if travel is not your thing, don't apply for a Service job. Otherwise travel shouldn't be a big issue. The job can be very stressful at times. It's just the nature of the IT field. I think some of it could be avoided though. You are expected to work. Yes believe it or not some people want to get paid and do nothing.
