Pros

There hasn't been a day that I don't feel challenged as an individual or a professional. We've transformed into a "who are you" to a formidable competitor in the space. Moving to a more structured and process-oriented environment has been challenging and rewarding. You get the best of working for a small and nimble company to learning how to install systems and processes to drive repeatable and consistent outcomes. The clients are great and fun to work with. My roles has changed several times, as expected when you've been with the company over six years. To me, that is one of the best pros about working at Businessolver. There are a lot of growth opportunities within the company. The industry is on fire and the services the company provides is in high demand. The perks are nice. There are a lot of family oriented gatherings (just signed up the kids for an Easter egg hunt) and many volunteer opportunities. All in all, this has been the best place I've ever worked. It's not easy to grow a company and meet the growing demands of the market. I've worked at larger corporations and there are many pros to those companies too. You have to be comfortable with change and growth or things can turn into a "con" quickly. There is a vibrant and "alive" feeling when you walk the halls. There is a buzz and excitement always going on. Occasionally you'll hear the sales group cheering loudly and as they let everyone know what new client is part of the family, which is one of the most fun part about being in the office.

Cons

Every job has its cons and Businessolver is no different. The only major con I see is that some employees quit but stay with the company, which is the worst kind of disengagement. There are not bars on the window and Des Moines is fresh with job opportunities. Please leave. Most of you, if not all of you, are really good people. Maybe this isn't the place for you. Go in peace. Find a place for you. You deserve to find what many of us have found here. This is the best place for us and it's hurtful to see someone tear at the very fabric we're working so hard to build.

I like it here, but there is room for improvement in Denver.

Pros

I would say besides the free food and those perks that the lengthy interview process, albeit frustrating and annoying for a candidate, does really help weed out a lot of bad apples. There are some that still make it through, but they usually don't stick around for long. The environment is has been super supportive despite being in Denver and away from the main office. Yes, this is a culture of "seek and ye shall learn," but I haven't really had a moment of pulling my hair out with frustration because I have had awesome co-workers and a bomb-diggity manager that are always willing to help. Maybe I am lucky compared to those who have expressed their frustration on this forum, but I love my job and I am happy here. And for those who may say that this is an HR review to make the company look good, this is not the case. I'm a real employee in Denver, and I'm giving my honest opinion.

Cons

The unfortunate thing I would say about this organization is the benefits. I really hate to give this as a con for a benefits management company, but it is true. There is no vision insurance and no EcoPass. I know there are folks that are trying to get at least the EcoPass to us, but I feel as though this benefit is not being considered as seriously as it should be. It is hard for a lot of employees, especially in Participant Services, to have to purchase an express pass and vision insurance. As much as I love my job and the culture here, there are times that I do consider leaving in order to find a better benefits package.
