A Complete Mess

Pros

Some of the people I worked with were wonderful.

Cons

-In the CEO's own words, it is no longer a media company. The majority of the company's revenue comes from events. If your goal is to pursue an editorial career and produce quality journalism, there's absolutely no room for growth or vision for the future. -Despite the inclusive imagery used on BDG's sites, there is almost no diversity within the company. -Lay-offs are constant, goalposts are always moved, and the company is being sued for millions in back-rent.

A sinking ship...

Pros

There are some truly talented individuals that are unfortunately leaving, have already left, or got laid off. Besides that, nothing good is left of this company.

Cons

BDG is in complete free fall. The CEO is erratic, the CPO is just as bad, and the rest of the C-suite has no idea what they’re doing. The company is burning through cash, drowning in debt, and all the truly talented employees have either left or been laid off to fund the executives' lavish lifestyles. There’s been no 401k matching or bonus payouts in years, and leadership has prioritized their own perks over the financial health of the business. A public lawsuit even exposed that they couldn’t pay their rent and got evicted. The only people left standing are the CEO’s inner circle—those who contribute nothing but still have jobs because of personal loyalty rather than competence. There is nothing good left here. When this company finally sinks, it will just be the CEO, and his cronies clinging to the wreckage. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.
